We spent 4 weeks in Vilamoura, Portugal on the Champions Tour and then had 3 weeks at the Costa del Sol Tour in Spain. The horses all jumped very well, and most importantly travelled there an back very well which is a credit to my team and Lizzie Drury at Saracen who makes sure the horses are in the best possible condition when they are due to travel abroad.
We just returned to the UK and we're all rather shattered.
I love jumping outside rather than indoors, so I am absolutley thrilled to announce that I've remained high enough in the World Rankings to enable me to compete at Olympia this year (my favourite show in the UK!!) I will need a 'tad' more practice indoors so I will be heading to Keysoe for the 2* event at the end of November.
It's great to see that there are more and more international shows being put on in the UK now helping to harness British talent and support riders that struggle to travel.
The plan is to take 3 horses to Olympia for the main classes, Bintang, Rembrandt Blue and Heliodor Hybris and my faithful puissance partner Rollercoaster! I have to say that although it is the public's favourite class to watch, it is my worst! He is such a good, brave and honest horse, that he's the only horse I don't mind doing it on!!
At home we have just started backing our 3 year olds, one is a son of Beluga by Arko and the other is a son of Twister (Peppermills full sister) by Billy Congo and we also have another de Breve baby. His name is Bristol and is a grey stallion by Diamant de Semilly and related to my 6 year old Utrillo de Breve on the mothers side so I'm very excited about these horses for the future. I still love starting the young ones and seeing how they change over the years and, as all of my top horses I have now I have had since 3 year olds, we are very excited to see them develop as well as the others.
Already looking forward to 2015 and with continued support from my fantastic sponsors Saracen, I hope it's another successful year!!!!
