We had a horse on the yard who was competing successfully at advanced level but had always been a poor eater of both hay, haylage and concentrate feed, as a result, he always looked quite poor.
We tried all sorts of feeding strategies and methods to no avail. He also had a tendency to be slightly irritable.
He was scoped and was found to have gastric ulcers, which were treated by the vet. He is now maintained on KERx Rite Trac, and his appetite and condition have certainly increased.
