Oatfeed is a rich source of beta-glucan which has been shown to have positive effects on the immune system, glycaemic response post feeding and on digestive health (Lindinger et al., 2017). Beta-glucan is a soluble fibre source which acts as a coating for the stomach lining and can help to regulate sugar release from the digestive system. It has also been shown to support immune response in performance horses (Paap & Roberti, 2014).

SUPER FIBRE MIX is a versatile and palatable high fibre complete feed that can be used either as the sole complete ration or as a supplementary chaff or additional fibre feed. A range of herbs including mint and oregano help to maintain appetite in shy or fussy feeders.
SUPER FIBRE MIX is based on high quality, dust-free, short chopped forage sources and is blended with a low inclusion of micronized cereals to help maintain body condition and to support light work. It contains quality protein sources to help support cell renewal, tissue and muscle repair, thus making it equally suitable for horses in work and those that are recuperating. It is fully fortified with a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals, so providing that it is fed at the minimum recommended feeding rate can be fed as the sole concentrate feed source.
SUPER FIBRE MIX contains a live yeast and a natural source of vitamin E, which play a supporting role in maintaining normal digestive and immune function, particularly during periods of stress e.g. travelling, competing or sickness.

---|---|---|
1.0 - 2.0kg | 200-400kg | Per day |
2.0 - 3.5kg | 400-600kg | Per day |

These feeding rates are intended as a guide only. Always try to feed a minimum of 1.5% of bodyweight as good quality forage per day. |
N.B These feed levels give the minimum and maximum feeding rates for each range of bodyweights (BW), ie a pony of any BW between 200-400kg could be fed between 1-2kg per day depending on their requirements.
SUPER FIBRE MIX contains a live yeast culture which has been shown to increase microbial activity. Saccharomyces cerevisiae supports efficient fibre digestion leading to improved feed and forage utilisation.
Research has shown that alfalfa has a high capacity for buffering stomach acid due to its naturally high calcium content (Nadeau et al., 2000) and the addition of an alfalfa chaff to feed has shown positive effects on pre-caecal digestion (Vervuert et al., 2009). It is well documented that chewing stimulates saliva production which has a buffering effect on the stomach acid. Feeding an alfalfa based chaff, such as Super Fibre Mix alongside your horse's hard feed will help to increase saliva production through encouraging chewing and will also help to further buffer stomach acid from the high calcium levels in the alfalfa chaff included in this ration.
