Equine nutrition is an extremely complex subject area, and it has an extremely important role in managing equine health. Lizzie Drury and the team often work with customers and their veterinarians on cases whereby nutritional intervention is required to support veterinary treatment.

As one of only a handful of registered Equine Nutritionists in the UK Lizzie is one of a new generation of nutritional scientists putting a friendly face and an uncomplicated attitude to a very confusing subject! A keen rider herself, Lizzie has previously evented at affiliated level and enjoys competing in all disciplines.

Rachel has worked for a variety of yards from riding schools to large livery yards and most recently as a groom for Jason Webb at Australian Horse Training. However it was during her time working as Sales Supervisor for a local and popular tack shop that she discovered how much she enjoys helping people find the most suitable feeding regime for their horse or pony. Determined to follow a career in nutrition Rachel went back to University, obtained a 1st class degree in Equine Science and began working for Saracen in 2011. Rachel has recently gained her MSc in Equine Science at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire and is now a registered nutritionist.
Steph George Msc RNUTR - REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST
Whilst studying for an Equine Science degree at university, Steph realised her passion for Equine Nutrition and the very important role it plays in the heath and well being of all horses and ponies. Having worked with horses for over 10 years on a variety of different yards, she has seen how essential good feeding and management practices are. Steph has recently gained her MSc in Equine Science at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire and is now a registered nutritionist.

Michael has been in the equestrian industry for over 29 years starting his professional equine career with The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, riding on ceremonial parades in London and caring for the horses in his troop. For the last 25 years Michael has been at the centre of the UK horse feed industry supporting and helping riders and trainers from across the disciplines with advice on how to get the most out of their horses. As Sales and Marketing Director for Saracen Horse Feeds Michael manages Saracen's presence in the market place across the UK, Europe and the Middle East and the companies relationships with riders, distributors and our partners in the USA at Kentucky Equine Research. Michael believes that he probably has one of the best jobs in the equestrian industry working with the best horses, best riders, and the best team in the UK and the worldwide horse feed industry.

Claire Allmett is Saracen Horse feeds marketing and public relations manager. Claire brings a lifetime of combining first hand equestrian experience coupled with her unique understanding of marketing, social media and PR in the equestrian and fashion industry. Claire has 2 horses that she competes at an advanced level when she is not working on the advertising and marketing for Saracen Horse Feeds and our retail shops Lillico & Attlee country Stores.
Kate Hayward - Area Sales Manager (Midlands)
Kate brings to the role years of experience within the equestrian industry combined with a passion for nutrition and a personal love for the equine athlete and competing. She has competed in many disciplines including showing when she came 3rd in HOYS Search for a Star in 2010. More recently she has been eventing with her 17hh Irish sport horse and has high hopes for a 3 year old warm-blood she bought as a foal.
Sarah Rushby - Area Sales Manager (north)
Sarah previously worked for nine years as an Area Manager for Dodson & Horrell covering Yorkshire and Lancashire. Her passion for horses and good quality nutrition has enabled her to develop strong relationships with her customers and the trade. Sarah is based near Harrogate and owns three horses, an ex-racehorse who she competes in dressage and showing, together with a Highland pony and a rescued Shetland pony.

I bring with me years of experience within the equestrian industry from teaching and yard management to office sales, territory management and equine specific pharmaceutical knowledge. As well as a passion for horses and competing.After finishing an HND in animal management and welfare at Writtle College I worked at a large BHS approved riding school and livery yard where I completed my BHS stages and taught for a number of years as well as helping to run the yard. I then worked for nearly five years for Merial Animal Health both in the office and as a territory manager where I gained a wealth of experience and knowledge and a keen interest in equine nutrition when looking as gastric ulcer prevention and management as well as sports horse nutrition and the important role it plays in performance, health and well-being. I have a 19 year old Oldenburg x Hanoverian mare called Folly who I have previously shown successfully in veteran classes and won a few championship and is now in light work.

Nic has over 12 years experience working within the equestrian industry. Her career started off by working as a sales assistant in a large Hertfordshire based feed merchant and continued into equine nutrition and distribution. Nic has a keen interest in equine nutrition and a passion for emphasising the importance of correct feeding and providing high quality products for all horses and ponies. With over 30 years equestrian experience, Nic has had the pleasure of owning, competing and working with many different types of horses including heavy horses and currently owns 2 of her own horses. Willow, a thoroughbred mare who Nic competes in dressage and Gharsun, who is a Clydesdale who competes in heavy horse showing classes nationally, both in hand and ridden and also BD.

Lucy previously worked for Dengie Horse Feeds Ltd. as Area Sales Manager for S.W. of England and South Wales.She returns to the equestrian industry having gained 14 years experience in customer facing roles. She is looking forward to building relationships with her Saracen clients, and advising with their feeding programs. Lucy has worked with event horses from grassroots level up to advanced, and it was during this time she found an interest in feeding the performance horse. She has successfully competed her own horses to BE novice level, and has represented her local riding club at the National Championships in horse trials and dressage.

Polly specialises in Thoroughbred nutrition and is involved with some of the most successful breeding farms and racing yards in the country. She has been with the company for over 20 years, and has overseen the feeding programmes of numerous 'Sales Toppers' and Classic winners during that time.

Clare has extensive experience in the bloodstock and racing industry. Before joining Saracen, she spent eight years feeding Saracen products on several leading UK stud farms and has an understanding of what results clients expect from feeding Saracen Horse Feeds.

Amie has had a keen interest in horses from a young age. and since leaving school has worked in the polo, racing and stud industry both in the UK and Overseas before completing several years nursing at an equine referral hospital in Gloucestershire. During her nursing career, an interest in nutrition and its link to performance and preventative care was sparked. Joining the feed and nutrition industry in 2017, Amie’s passion for all things thoroughbred has continued, leading her to the role of Thoroughbred Specialist here at Saracen.

Catherine Rudenko, BSc, PGCert, RNutr, is a Registered Nutritionist, who is now supporting Saracen’s Thoroughbred Team as our Consultant. Catherine has 16 years of experience in field based nutrition and formulation, and has worked in Europe, the USA and Asia during that time. She is focused on the Thoroughbred sector and will advise our clients on all aspects of nutrition. She takes an evidence based scientific approach to reviewing and developing feeding programmes, understands the significance of climate and the cultural aspects of feeding horses, and is committed to producing feeding plans that deliver real results.
