Balancing Energy And Weight For The Good-Doer
Bekah Hilton contacted our nutritional team for advice about her mare who needed more energy without weight gain as she is a good-doer, but finding the balance has been tricky in the past.
Bekah's Welsh Section D mare was lacking energy and as well as being a good-doer, she can get quite spooky finding the balance between achieving suitable energy levels for work, without unwanted weight gain, has been tricky. Feeding horses like this can often result in a complicated feeding regime. Bekah was recommended to try Competition-Fit Balancer to help simplify her horses feeding regime, whilst helping to support better energy levels and being mindful of her horses weight. Competition-Fit Balancer is a low intake feed which will provide a calorie restricted diet whilst also providing controlled energy to support appropriate energy levels for work.
When we contacted Bekah to find out how her mare is getting on she had this to say:
I swapped my Welsh Section D onto the Competition-Fit Balancer after finding that I needed that little extra energy and sparkle when dancing inside of the white boards. Since swapping feeds, my girl looks and feels absolutely amazing and we have smashed both our novice and elementary PB's since. We also use the Re-Covery Mash as a treat and to re-hydrate after our schooling sessions. I cannot thank Saracen enough for their help and advice. I’m saving money on my feed bills and my girls performance has improved second to none!
Competition-Fit Balancer is a highly nutritious, low intake performance balancer in the unique form of a mix, which has been formulated for horses in medium to hard work. The balancer is based on digestible “Super-Fibres” and oils to provide continuous energy, whilst the inclusion of cereal aids glycogen replenishment and helps to reduce the onset of early fatigue whilst providing power to perform. The mix encompasses live yeast and Acid Buf to support the optimum environment in the stomach and help manage those horses and ponies who are prone to Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome. An extensive range of vitamins and chelated minerals ensures optimum absorption and utilisation to support normal health and vitality.
