About the role

As a Saracen Horse Feeds Area Sales Manager/nutrition helpline colleague, as part of the role you will be working as an integral part of our well-established team of Area sales managers across the Southeast managing the supplier chain of Saracen Horse Feeds to our customers through our wholesaler and retailer network and supporting them with staff training, merchandising, promotions and helping increase their sales of Saracen feeds and Home Farm range.

Another vital part of your role will be visiting existing and new yards across all disciplines and providing tailored feed advice and ensuring supply of Saracen horse feeds.

You will also be responsible for identifying and developing new business in their area with the support of our equine nutritionists, thoroughbred specialists, marketing team and customer service team.

You will also attend trade stands and local shows to build our brand and provide expert advice to new and potential customers, you will also manage your own business social media pages with informative content and will have sponsored riders and supported riders within your area to support and manage.

As this is a hybrid role, the equally important part of the role will involve being part of our expert nutrition helpline team offering support to customers on all feed line enquiries through our many channels of communication including telephone, email, Facebook messenger and Instagram. As part of the nutrition team, you will help develop our nutrition helpline service along with supporting different sectors of the business with nutrition information such as marketing and operations.

As a member of the Saracen team, you are an ambassador of our company and are trusted key member of the team. You are responsible for representing the public image of Saracen Horse Feeds in the field to customers, partners, and future partnerships.

About you

  • Passionate about equine nutrition and working for a high-quality Horse Feed company.
  • An energetic person with strong interpersonal skills and a real passion for people
  • Great communication skills and the highest of customer service skills
  • Organised and able to manage your own diary whilst being flexible for weekend working and staying away for events and shows.
  • A passion to succeed and able to keep up to date with latest nutrition research and latest trends in the market.
  • Ability to identify gaps in your area and look into requirements and identify how Saracen Horse Feeds can provide a solution.
  • Experience in a sales role or area sales position
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suit
  • Reside within the Southeast of England or willing to relocate.

Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • 3 days field based and a set 2 days working in head office in Aylesford
  • Occasional evenings & weekends – paid as time in Lieu.

Remuneration

  • Competitive salary depending on experience.
  • 22 days holiday (rising to 25 with 3 years’ service) plus Bank holiday
