Feeding The Lazy Horse For More Instant Energy

Our Icelandic distributor – Fóðurblandan, has been in touch to update us on how a customer, who has been using our products since we started exporting to Iceland 2 years ago, is getting on. Forkur frá Breiðabólsstað is an 11-year-old stallion who is owned by Flosi Ólafsson, a young trainer and rider. Fokur is a very confident horse who is powerful, yet calm and needed more energy when competing to show his full potential.
Fokur is fed on Competition-Fit Mix and recently competed against 24 other Icelandic horses at the
‘Champions League’ competition – a competition that is held throughout the winter in Iceland. Fokur competed in the Tölt (a unique gait special to the Icelandic horse) and won the competition. Flosi has said he “hasn’t looked back since making the change to Saracen 2 years ago”.
Flosi uses Re-Covery Mash and Re-Leve, as well as Competition-Fit Mix with the rest of his horses and the results, are certainly showing.
COMPETITION-FIT-MIX is a high energy feed that utilises a variety of micronised cereals to help maximise power. The inclusion of digestible ‘Super-Fibres’ helps to support the performance horse’s fibre intake, whilst also helping to maintain optimal hydration. The addition of oil helps optimise stamina by providing slow-release energy in the diet.
