Shape Up™ For The Performance Horse
Lucy contacted our helpline looking for feeding advice for her event horse Finn, who was moving up the levels with his rider to compete at 2* level. Lucy was keen to support his overall digestive health, and Finn was maintaining his weight well on a pelleted balancer. Whilst Finn had plenty of natural energy, he required a little bit more stamina to support his increase in workload, and so Shape Up was recommended. Here is what Lucy had to say when we checked in with her 6 weeks later :
"Wow we are just sooo happy with the food! Finn has enough energy but is not nearly as loopy as he used to be and is so much calmer on the ground. SHAPE-UP™ is a low starch, low sugar, high fibre mix designed to provide a balanced diet at low intake levels and to help maintain a normal, healthy metabolism. This whole cereal free ration has been designed to give a minimal glycaemic response post-feeding when fed in small quantities, and the low feeding rate makes it ideal for good-doers, as well as horses that may be prone to excitable or anxious behaviours.
